Haly Darreh waterfall inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List

Haly Darreh waterfall in Mazandaran Province is inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List.

Haly Darreh waterfall, which lies in the northern province of Mazandaran, has been inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List.

Mehdi Eshaqi, the head of Cultural heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization in Chalus, said on Wednesday that Haly Darreh waterfall, which is located on Chalus-Marzanabad old road in Pol-e Karat Village in Chalus County, was registered as national natural heritage site.

IRNA news agency reported that the waterfall was inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List as “the longest natural monument in the region that also enjoys special geographical and tourism features”.

The waterfall is 12 meters high and lies in the heart of the Caspian Hyrcanian mixed forests.

So far, 15 historical sites and two natural sites in Chalus have been inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List.
